How Long Are the Lifts Actually Open?

The main Mountain biking season runs right through to 13 September this year, with Morzine, Avoriaz, Les Gets, Chatel, Champery, Morgins and more all running till (or later) than this date. You can view the full lift opening dates here >>

Why Is Late Season the Best Bit?

Ask anyone who lives here. The August crowds thin out, the lift queues disappear, and with the settled weather and less riders the trails have had a full summer of love from the dig crews. A bit of overnight rain in late August usually means hero dirt by morning, and you can rack up huge days without ever standing in a queue (we've seen riders clock over 125km of downhill in a single day out here).

We wrote a whole post on why August and September are the best time to visit Morzine, so we won't repeat ourselves too much. But we stand by it!!

What Do You Still Need to Sort?

Four things, and we can do the lot. Beds first, so check out our Morzine MTB holiday accommodation. Then bikes, and our bike hire starts from £95 a day for a top-end enduro or downhill rig or £99 for an e-MTB, helmets thrown in free. Airport transfers from Geneva are £58 each way and the drive is only about an hour and a half, so a cheeky last-minute flight is very doable. And please, sort your insurance before you fly.
