Bike Morzine Mates Race Series – Liability Waiver and Release of Claims

IMPORTANT: Participation in the Mates Race is conditional upon agreeing to the terms set out below. If you do not understand or accept any part of this agreement, you must not participate.

1. Acknowledgement of Risk
I acknowledge that participation in mountain biking events, including but not limited to the Bike Morzine “Mates Race” Series (the “Event”), involves inherent risks that may result in serious injury, permanent disability, or death, as well as property damage or loss. These risks include but are not limited to:High-speed descentsCollisions with obstacles, natural features, other participants, or infrastructureEquipment failureAdverse weather conditionsTerrain-related hazardsLimited or delayed access to emergency medical support
I participate in the Event entirely at my own risk.

2. Insurance Requirement
I confirm that I have adequate personal insurance cover for all possible eventualities relating to my participation in the Event, including (but not limited to):Emergency mountain rescueHelicopter evacuationMedical and hospital expenses (including repatriation)Permanent disabilityDeath
If I do not have suitable insurance, I understand that I must not participate in the Event.

3. Disclaimer of Liability
Bike Morzine Ltd, its directors, officers, employees, contractors, Event Organisers, timekeepers, lift companies, trail builders, landowners, sponsors, and any other associated parties (collectively referred to as “Released Parties”) do not provide liability insurance or accept any responsibility for injury, death, damage, or loss suffered by any participant or third party during or arising from the Event.
By signing this waiver, I hereby irrevocably waive, release and discharge the Released Parties from any and all claims, actions, demands or liabilities (whether known or unknown) arising out of or relating to my participation in the Event.

4. Indemnification
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from and against all claims, liabilities, damages, expenses (including legal costs), or losses arising out of or relating to my acts or omissions during participation in the Event.

5. Nature of the Event
Despite the informal name, the “Mates Race” is not a competitive race and is considered a social ride with timed elements. Participation is voluntary and at your own discretion. Timing and prizes are for entertainment purposes only.

6. Assumption of Responsibility
I fully accept personal responsibility for any injury, illness, loss or damage that I may suffer as a result of my participation in the Event.
This agreement is binding upon my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns. It shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Event is held.Declaration
I confirm that:I have read and understood this waiver in fullI am over 18 years of age (or have a parent/guardian signing below on my behalf)I voluntarily accept all risks associated with my participationI have the appropriate insurance cover in place

ONLY SIGN ON IF YOU WILL 100% 
SHOW UP TO RACE & ARE COMFORTABLE RIDING THE TRAIL IN ALL CONDITIONS WELL WITHIN YOUR ABILITY.
